A simpler way to begin therapy

Starting therapy isn’t always straightforward.

You might know something isn’t quite right, but not know what kind of help you need. Or you may have looked at therapist profiles before and felt unsure how to choose.

At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley-on-Thames, we take some of that pressure away. Rather than expecting you to figure it all out on your own, we help you make sense of what you’re looking for and guide you towards a therapist who feels like a good fit.

A more supported way to find the right therapist

One of the hardest parts of starting therapy is knowing where to begin. Different approaches, different personalities, different availability, it can feel like a lot to take in, especially when you’re already dealing with something difficult.

We don’t leave you to navigate that on your own.

We’ll take time to understand what’s going on for you and help match you with someone whose way of working, experience, and availability aligns with what you need.

Our therapists

Our Henley team includes experienced counsellors and psychotherapists working with a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety, stress, and low mood
  • Depression and emotional overwhelm
  • Trauma or difficult past experiences
  • Low self-esteem or confidence
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life transitions, loss, or change
  • Feeling stuck or unsure what’s next

They work across a range of approaches, including CBT, person-centred, integrative, psychodynamic, and creative therapies.

You don’t need to decide which approach is right. That’s something we can think about with you.

Careful therapist matching

We take time to understand what you’re looking for and help match you with the right therapist.

A wide range of approaches

We offer a choice of support from structured therapies like CBT to open-ended talking therapies.

Calm, professional settings

Therapy sessions are held in a confidential, non-judgemental setting that prioritises collaboration.

What You Can Expect

We aim to make starting therapy feel as contained and straightforward as possible, especially if you’re unsure what to expect.

Your first step is a gentle conversation to help us understand what’s happening for you and what kind of support might be most helpful. From there, therapy is guided by your needs, pace, and goals.

You can expect:

  • A simple, supported starting point
  • A short, thoughtful first conversation
  • Help finding the right therapist
  • Clear options, availability, and fees
  • A calm, confidential therapy space
