Healing After Betrayal Support Group

For anyone recovering from infidelity, emotional affairs, or significant breaches of trust

Discovering that someone you love has betrayed your trust can feel deeply destabilising. Whether you've experienced infidelity, an emotional affair, ongoing deception or another significant breach of trust, the impact can leave you questioning your relationship, your judgement and even yourself.

Many people describe feeling shocked, anxious, hypervigilant or emotionally overwhelmed. You may find yourself replaying conversations, searching for answers, struggling to trust your instincts, or wondering whether anyone truly understands what you're going through.

Our Healing After Betrayal Support Group offers a safe, confidential online space where you can begin to process your experience alongside others who understand the profound impact betrayal can have.

This free group is facilitated by experienced couples therapist Elizabeth Spill. Whether the betrayal is recent or happened years ago, whether you're rebuilding your relationship, have chosen to leave, or simply don't know what comes next, you are welcome here.

What the group offers

This group provides a supportive space where you can:

  • Share your experience in a compassionate, non-judgemental environment.
  • Connect with others who understand the impact of betrayal.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of how betrayal affects the mind, body and nervous system.
  • Learn practical ways to manage overwhelming emotions and regain a sense of stability.
  • Rebuild healthy boundaries and reconnect with your own needs and values.
  • Feel less alone as you move towards healing and recovery.

You don't need to be attending betrayal trauma counselling sessions. You don't need to have made decisions about your relationship. You simply need a place where you can feel understood.

A safe, welcoming space

There's no pressure to speak or share personal details. You're welcome to listen, reflect or participate .

  • Other significant breaches of trust involving deception or secrecy

You're welcome whether you're still in the relationship, have separated, or remain uncertain about the future. You don't need to know what comes next, and you don't need to share your story unless you choose to.

Looking for answers after betrayal?

Many people who join the group are trying to make sense of what has happened and are left with unanswered questions. In some situations, a structured Therapeutic Disclosure can help couples explore those questions in a safe, supported, and professionally facilitated way.

Therapeutic disclosure isn't the right choice for everyone, but if you'd like to understand more about the process, we're happy to discuss whether it may be appropriate for your situation.

If your experience of betrayal relates specifically to compulsive sexual behaviours or pornography use, you may find our Partners of Sex & Porn Addicts Support Group more appropriate.
