At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley-on-Thames, we offer a calm, welcoming space where people can pause, reflect, and find the support that feels right for them. Our work is grounded in the belief that meaningful change happens through human connection, between clients and therapists, within local communities, and across the wider mental health and wellbeing landscape.
Cherry Tree was founded by Caroline Ley, whose work has always been rooted in the belief that therapy works best when it’s connected to real lives, real communities, and genuine relationships. Alongside her, Barry Redman supports the operational development of the centres, Chantel Mackenzie holds the day-to-day life of the Henley space, and Rebecca Mehmet works across both centres to keep the practice running smoothly. Together, they help create the conditions where therapists can do their best work, and clients can feel supported from the moment they get in touch.
Since spring 2022, our Henley Centre has been located in a beautiful listed building in the heart of Henley-on-Thames, a setting that reflects the tone of the work we do here: calm, discreet, and grounded.
The Henley Centre offers:
Six peaceful, well-appointed therapy rooms
A central office space
A growing community of experienced and trainee therapists
Support for adults, young people, couples, and families
Many people come to Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley seeking support with anxiety, burnout, relationships, life transitions, and emotional and physical well-being. Others arrive unsure where to begin. We take care to meet people where they are.
From December 2025, we’re excited to open a dedicated group and training spaces in Henley-on-Thames. This allows our expansion of:
Workshops and short courses
Training and intensive weekends
Community-focused wellbeing events
This expansion reflects the increasing demand for accessible, relational mental health and wellbeing support in the Henley area, building on the strong therapeutic community already established here. It also allows us to extend our services to people living in nearby villages and surrounding areas, including Shiplake, Hambleden, Sonning, Wargrave and Nettlebed.
Qualifying in 2010, Caroline, a psychotherapist with a background in social care, recognised early on that effective therapy works best when it is rooted in community, supporting not only clients but also therapists to work ethically and sustainably.
Cherry Tree Therapy Centre’s first home was in Buckhurst Hill, Essex, where a small counselling space grew into 3 buildings offering therapy, training, supervision, and community support.
Today, the Buckhurst Hill Centre includes:
Eight therapy rooms
A large group room
A private garden space
A long-standing low-cost counselling service
Strong partnerships with local organisations and charities
In April 2026, we will open our third building in Buckhurst Hill, building on the experience and values that underpin Cherry Tree’s work. This foundation continues to guide how we support individuals and families across all our centres, including here in Henley-on-Thames.
Cherry Tree Therapy Centres are spaces shaped by values of care, integrity, collaboration, and compassion. Whether you come to us as a client, therapist, trainee, or community partner, you’ll find a thoughtful, ethical approach and a genuine commitment to wellbeing.
From the beginning, Cherry Tree Therapy Centre has been about people. Bringing together clients, therapists, and the wider community, and offering thoughtful, well-matched support delivered by a trusted team.
