Connection, understanding, and support
Support groups offer something different from one-to-one therapy. Sitting alongside others who share similar experiences can help you feel less alone, less unsure, and less like you have to explain yourself. Many people find that simply listening, without pressure to speak, can be grounding and reassuring.
People often come to groups feeling uncertain. You might wonder whether your difficulties are “enough”, whether you’ll fit in, or whether it’s okay to just observe. That hesitation is very common. Groups are designed to be gentle, respectful spaces where you can take part at your own pace.
At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre, we offer a growing range of support groups in Henley-on-Thames. Each group has its own focus, but all are held with the same values, kindness, confidentiality, and a genuine wish to make life feel a little more manageable.
Support for family, friends, and others affected by someone else’s addiction
Addiction doesn’t just affect the person using substances or behaviours; it affects the people around them too. You may feel worried, exhausted, confused, angry, or guilty. Many people tell us they feel stuck between caring and protecting themselves, often carrying far more than they let on.
Online support for female partners of sex and porn addicts
This group supports women who are experiencing betrayal trauma or integrity abuse related to sex and porn addiction. You’re welcome to attend whether you’re still in the relationship, have chosen to leave, or are unsure what comes next. Your partner does not need to be in recovery, and you’re never expected to share personal details unless you choose to.
A calm, understanding space for neurodivergent adults
Living as a neurodivergent person can be both enriching and exhausting. You may feel different, misunderstood, overstimulated, or constantly adapting yourself to fit into environments that weren’t designed with you in mind. For some people, there’s a clear diagnosis; for others, there’s a growing sense of something that finally makes things make sense.
A free, therapist-led space for emotional connection and support
There are times when you might feel anxious, low, overwhelmed, or simply in need of somewhere calm to gather your thoughts. You may not be looking for therapy, or you may not be sure what kind of support would help, just that things feel heavier than usual. Our Emotional Wellbeing & Support Group offers a gentle, welcoming space to pause, talk if you want to, and feel less alone.
