Caroline Ley is the Founder and Clinical Director of Cherry Tree Therapy Centre (Buckhurst Hill) and Cherry Tree Centre Henley. She leads the strategic, operational, and clinical development across four buildings and two thriving wellbeing centres, supporting a community of more than 200 therapists.
With over a decade of experience as an integrative psychotherapist, psychosexual therapist, and clinical supervisor, Caroline has now transitioned fully out of client-facing therapeutic work. Her focus is on leadership, centre management, community service development, and supporting the professional growth of therapists, practitioners, and small business owners.
Caroline oversees clinical governance and leads the overall direction of both centres, designing systems and structures that support ethical, accessible, and well-managed practice. She established the Cherry Tree trainee placement programme in 2016, creating a thoughtful pathway for new counsellors to gain experience within a supportive clinical environment. Alongside this, Caroline continues to mentor therapists, supervisors, and practitioners as they develop their careers and private practices, and facilitates the monthly Cherry Tree Business Development Group.
Across her career, Caroline has designed and facilitated a wide range of community groups, therapeutic programmes, and specialist workshops, including wellbeing groups, recovery programmes, and professional development events. She remains committed to community mental health and the creation of safe, inclusive spaces where people can access support without unnecessary barriers.
Caroline has previously lectured at the University of East London on their Postgraduate Integrative Counselling and Coaching Diploma and has contributed to media discussions on sex addiction, relationships, and psychological wellbeing, including interviews with BBC Radio Essex and The Beat London.
Drawing on her extensive background in psychotherapy, centre leadership, systems design, and community development, Caroline is now expanding her work into small business coaching and mentoring. She supports therapists, service providers, and wellness entrepreneurs to build sustainable, values-led businesses that prioritise wellbeing, clarity, and ethical practice.
Caroline’s work is grounded in compassion, integrity, and a belief that both therapists and business owners thrive when they are supported, empowered, and held within clear, thoughtfully designed systems.
