A compassionate and skilled integrative psychotherapist, supporting you through anxiety, trauma, loss and the experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing, relationships and sense of self.
Libby offers a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space for people experiencing anxiety, OCD-related concerns, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, or challenges around identity and self-esteem. She also supports clients navigating neurodiversity, adults with difficult childhood experiences, and reproductive or life-stage concerns, including infertility, abortion, pregnancy, birth, postnatal depression, and menopause.
Libby listens carefully to your experiences and what you hope to gain from therapy. Working collaboratively and at a pace that feels manageable, she tailors her support to your individual needs.
You are welcome to bring whatever feels important, without fear of judgement. Together, you and Libby can explore what feels painful, confusing or unresolved, while reconnecting with your sense of self, your values, hopes and capacity for change. Therapy can offer space to reflect, consider a new direction and move towards a fuller sense of yourself.
As a trained integrative psychotherapist, Libby draws thoughtfully from several therapeutic approaches rather than expecting one model to fit everyone. Her work is collaborative, relational and responsive, enabling her to meet you as an individual and focus on what is most useful for you.
Libby understands that people create stories to make sense of their lives. These stories help shape identity, but they can also become harsh, limiting or out of step with who we are now. By gently exploring beliefs, self-criticism and patterns of behaviour, therapy can bring greater awareness of unmet needs, inner conflicts and desires — and create more room for choice.
Painful or traumatic experiences can be difficult to bear alone. Within the safety of the therapeutic relationship, Libby supports clients in exploring emotional pain at a manageable pace. She also helps clients navigate uncertainty by reflecting on freedom, choice and responsibility, with the aim of finding a more grounded way of living.
Relationship distress is a particular area of Libby’s work. She helps clients understand patterns of relating that may have developed in childhood, along with the messages they received about safety, love and belonging. By exploring these dynamics empathically and without blame, clients can develop clearer boundaries and make more intentional choices in their relationships.
For some people, this may involve questioning whether to stay or leave a relationship; for others, it may be about understanding why the same difficulties seem to emerge repeatedly.
Libby has observational experience in an inpatient mental health ward, where she gained insight into the care of people living with enduring and complex mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, psychosis and treatment-resistant depression. This experience also introduced her to multidisciplinary approaches involving antipsychotic medication and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
