Marie Finch is an NCPS-accredited Psychotherapeutic Counsellor based in Henley and the founder of Marie Finch Counselling. She established her practice to offer a warm and welcoming space for individuals seeking peace or meaningful change in their lives.
Her therapeutic approach is pluralistic, recognising that different clients need different things at different times. Marie believes that engaging in open conversation is the best way to understand each client’s needs. She places great importance on a counselling relationship built on trust and authenticity, seeing it as key to personal growth. Marie considers it a privilege to get to know her clients on a deeper level.
In addition to her work as a counsellor, Marie is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist with a background spanning the NHS, education, and the charity sector. She has supported both children and adults with profound and complex health needs.
Thanks to her specialist communication skills and counselling training, Marie is especially skilled in supporting individuals who may find it challenging to express their thoughts and feelings.
Marie’s professional journey has shaped her special interest in post-traumatic growth. She adopts a compassionate, forward-looking approach that nurtures emotional well-being.
Alongside her private practice, she also works as the Neuro-rehab Lead for Headway Thames Valley, supporting families affected by Acquired Brain Injury.
