Marie Hooper is a qualified integrative counsellor who offers a caring, non-judgmental space where clients have the freedom to tell their stories, along with the support and empowerment needed to be curious, explore, create change, and find a new way forward.
Working alongside her clients, Marie provides:
Marie understands that each person is unique, and so the way she works with them will also be unique. She helps clients explore issues in a way that deepens self-awareness, emotional processing, and resilience. Though some may struggle to believe this at first, she holds the view that each person is the expert on themselves. She supports clients in gaining different perspectives, helping them navigate both present challenges and past experiences effectively.
People may seek counselling with Marie because they have a specific problem they hope to resolve, or they may simply feel a sense of dissatisfaction, anxiety, or unhappiness and want to understand why—and how things can change.
Choosing a counsellor is an important decision, and Marie encourages potential clients to reach out with any questions. She offers an initial, free 15-minute online or phone conversation, providing an opportunity to ask questions and explain why they are looking for therapy, helping both parties decide if they can work well together.
Marie has over 25 years of experience working in the publishing sector and has lived experience of the impact of redundancy, as well as parenting a teenager with anxiety, panic disorder, and depression. These experiences have helped shape her professional counselling journey. She has also worked for a charity and a low-cost counselling agency.
Marie Hooper offers both short- and long-term counselling and finds that the flexibility and creativity of an integrative approach help her personalise therapy for each client.
Marie welcomes enquiries and encourages those interested to get in touch to arrange an initial conversation.
