Hello, I’m Max, a qualified counsellor (MBACP, NCPS Accredited), and psychosexual and relationship therapist from Oxfordshire. Through my work in private practice and in several schools, I’ve supported people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and psychosexual issues, such as sex and porn addiction. I’m down-to-earth, friendly, and relatable, helping you feel relaxed and safe enough to share what’s really going on, without fear of judgement.
Some people may perceive counselling to be a heavy step. Whilst it is the right space to explore challenging emotional topics, it is also a chance for you to explore questions about yourself and your lifestyle, so that you can start recognising more steps towards how you want to live your life, as the person who can make the best decisions for your life is you.
As the author of the young-adult book ‘Porn bomb’, I am trained and specialise in supporting those who suffer from porn addiction, to help promote change, reduce shame, and understand the addiction and reasons behind it. I am also one of the facilitators for the Men’s Online Recovery Group.
I work face-to-face and online. My style is very relaxed and tailored to you. I can help you make sense of your world, enabling you to achieve your goals. I work primarily from a person-centred approach, integrating elements of Gestalt and psychotherapeutic methods. I also offer EMDR therapy for those processing more complex or traumatic experiences.
