Sophie Hogan is an Integrative Counsellor with over 6 years’ experience supporting children, young people and adults through a wide range of emotional and life challenges.
Sophie believes that the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of meaningful change. By sensitively creating a trusting environment, her clients feel empowered to explore themselves compassionately. Working collaboratively helps her clients gain confidence and a deeper understanding of themselves. Increasing her clients’ ability to recognise patterns that may be holding them back enables them to make more informed choices to support their wellbeing in the future.
Sophie draws on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring her work to each individual. Therapy may focus on present-day challenges and what is happening in the ‘here and now’, while also exploring the impact of past experiences that can shape thoughts, behaviours, and relationships.
Alongside her extensive work with children and young people, Sophie is passionate about supporting adults navigating life transitions and any aspect of their mental well-being. Her experience across educational, charity, and private settings enables her to work sensitively with people from different backgrounds and stages of life.
Sophie is a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (BACP) She has worked in both private and public school sectors, supporting teenagers through their developmental years and is currently working for a charity that provides counselling to children and young people, and the adults that support them.
As she expands her private practice she is developing a special interest in bereavement support.
She understands how daunting it can feel to try to find the right counsellor to build a working relationship with. As a result, she offers a free 20-minute consultation, online or by telephone. This gives her potential clients the opportunity to explore what they are looking for, ask any questions, and get a sense of how it might feel to work together before deciding whether to proceed.
Sessions are available online, by telephone, or in person.
Whatever you are facing, Sophie would welcome the opportunity to work together in an inclusive and respectful way to facilitate meaningful change.
