Barry is Operations Director at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley-on-Thames, where he leads the operational and strategic development of the centre. He focuses on the structures that support the work behind the scenes, developing internal systems, overseeing key projects, and ensuring the centre runs in a sustainable and well-organised way. His role includes introducing improved management processes and leading the development of a bespoke booking system designed to make therapy room rental clearer and more straightforward for therapists.
Much of Barry’s work takes place quietly in the background, creating the stability and infrastructure that allow therapists to concentrate on their clinical practice and clients to experience a seamless, professional service.
Alongside his operational role, Barry works clinically as an integrative counsellor and coach. Most of his therapeutic work is accessed through the specialist Sex Addiction Counselling service, where he supports individuals and couples affected by sex and porn addiction, as well as sexually compulsive behaviours.
Barry retrained as a counsellor following a previous career as a sustainability consultant. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from a BACP-accredited course. His integrative approach combines counselling and coaching principles, which is particularly effective in addiction recovery work, addressing both the emotional roots of compulsive behaviours and supporting meaningful behavioural change.
