Karen O’Neill

Therapeutic Counsellor

Karen O’Neill is a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor working with us at Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley-on-Thames. Karen has an extensive counselling skillset that has been developed over the past 15 years from working within the education system, and local government bodies, supporting at-risk children, and survivors of domestic violence.

Karen specialises in client-centred therapy and strongly believes in the positive impact of mindfulness, meditation and other holistic approaches, which she can introduce into sessions to assist client needs if they feel they would benefit from them.

She encourages her clients to strive towards self-discovery and meaningful change, making a space for their autonomy, and supporting them to find the answers within. Karen understands that every client’s therapeutic journey is unique and by working collaboratively with her clients, allows them to create a therapeutic roadmap that aligns with their needs and goals.

Each session, Karen O’Neill ensures that her clients feel that they are in a safe and honest space, where they can voice and explore their thoughts and feelings in confidence.

Karen is committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find their path to healing and personal growth. She empowers her clients to decide how often they feel they need a session as she understands how busy life can be, being married and a mother to both young children and cockapoos.

Her experiences have allowed her the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, each with their own unique stories and struggles. This compels her to continually professionally develop herself and implement new approaches that could support her clients therapeutic journey.

Alongside her 1:1 private practice, Karen continues to volunteer for a charity that supports adults and children who have experienced domestic violence.

Karen offers face-to-face, online, and telephone sessions. Please enquire if you would like to know more.
