Counselling Psychologist in Training

About Siv Hertling

Siv is a mature trainee counselling psychologist with 3 years of therapeutic experience working in the private and charity sectors. Currently working on her doctorate, Siv is a student member of the British Psychology Society.

Much of Siv’s experience has been working with clients between the ages of 20-75 suffering from trauma, childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, sexual abuse, eating disorders, personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Integral to her style of therapy is creating a safe space for clients to work through any issues, free from judgement. Siv Hertling views each client as an expert in their own life. Working alongside them, supporting them, and together, exploring whatever issues stand in the way of living their lives to the full. Through this humanistic approach, Siv works pluralistically, meaning she will work with the client and tailor her style of therapy to meet the needs of the individual.

Siv Hertling works both online and face-to-face with her clients, on a long or short-term basis.

Siv is a reflective practitioner meaning she is evidenced based informed with up-to-date knowledge, as well as currently undertaking research on the process of sudden changes of presented distress during psychotherapy which has been shown to reduce symptom severity post-therapy.
