Support for emotional wellbeing during important years of change
Growing up can be challenging. Young people often face pressures linked to school, friendships, identity, family relationships, social media, and expectations about the future. At times, these experiences can feel overwhelming, confusing, or isolating.
At Cherry Tree Therapy Centre in Henley-on-Thames, we offer counselling for young people who are struggling with their emotions or finding it hard to cope. We also support parents and carers who are concerned about a young person’s wellbeing and want thoughtful, professional support in place.
Our work with young people is age-appropriate, gentle, and supportive. We understand that it can be difficult for young people to talk openly, particularly if they’re unsure how they feel or worried about being judged.
Counselling offers a confidential space where young people can explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. Therapists work carefully to build trust and help young people develop understanding, emotional awareness, and practical coping strategies that support everyday life.
Where appropriate, we also work thoughtfully with parents or carers, always keeping the young person’s wellbeing and confidentiality at the centre of the work.

Counselling can support young people with anxiety, low mood, self-esteem, friendship or family difficulties, school-related stress, identity concerns, and emotional regulation, among other challenges.
